It is an inconvenient fact but as the value of our club rises the potential buyers become fewer.
Not just that but as is happening with Newcastle when someone making an acceptable offer for the club is asked to demonstrate they have the wherewithal things grind to a halt.

99% of debts are now owed to the Davids.
Simply a lie.
The most recent set of published accounts show liabilities (debts) just in excess of £172 million (ignoring assets).
Of that £45 million is loans from shareholders (The Davids).
If they were fans first not businessmen first, then the loons would be interest free.
More is in fact owed to other football clubs, £57 million, for further instalments on player transfers, than owed to the Davids.

Sullivan is still a billionaire which is a ridiculous amount of money to have. Financially he doesn't need or will ever need the interest payments on the loans but he wants the interest. As others have said he is a billionaire in his own right and generates a lot of income from his interests outside of West Ham. He is in the business of making money bottom line and that comes before any loyalty he has to the club and it's supporters.

99% of debts are now owed to the Davids.
There is not loads of interest paid to other third parties. It is almost entirely to the two of them.
Most other owners who put money into clubs do it and do not charge interest. There was a football finance experts on one of the West Ham podcasts a few months back. He was basically saying it's true that with their money they couldn't buy their way into the elite but at the same time they underspend on what they could afford and that charging interest on their loans is not the norm.
In short, they are doing an adequate job and appear to just be in a sort of holding pattern to maintain the value of their asset - presumably so they can sell when the requirement to give a % to the Mayor's office based on the stadium rental agreement runs out.
